Abstract

Dear readers and readers
As we commemorate the tenth anniversary of the foundation of the Itapecuruense Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts (AICLA), on December 7, 2021, we will also commemorate the 150th (one hundred and fifty years) anniversary of the birth of our patron, poet Mariana Luz, dates that do us a lot of honor to celebrate.
Among the various activities carried out by AICLA in 2021, in accordance with its Annual Action Plan, the most outstanding was the delivery to the Mayor of Itapecuru Mirim of the proposal to create the Miquelina Natural Park (the request to recover a degraded space) in session solemn in the auditorium of the Municipality of Itapecuru Mirim; the launch of the third edition of the Púcaro Literário anthology, with the theme of female protagonism (in a tribute to Mariana Luz), organized by the members of AICLA, Jucey Santana and João Carlos Pimentel; a state campaign for the preservation of the Itapecuru river was created; and the IV Literary Festival of Itapecuru Mirim (FLIM) was held, with the theme of Itapecuru: the river of life in Maranhão. In addition, it was planned to create and publish an electronic journal that could make its actions nationally visible and consolidate its academic activities.
The name of the magazine, chosen by the Annual General Assembly of AICLA, was PERGAMINHO, after which the members of the Editorial Board were selected and this, in turn, set up the regulations for the periodical.
In addition to members of AICLA, representatives of institutions based in Itapecuru Mirim were also appointed to comprise the Editorial Board: State University of Maranhão (UEMA) and Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Maranhão, IFMA Campus Itapecuru Mirim and one Corresponding Member of AICLA. Once the Council was formed, it created the regulations for the magazine, which were later considered and approved by the AICLA Ordinary General Assembly.
After this initial phase, the notice for submission of articles to be part of the first edition was launched. Now, after selecting the texts, we are honored to deliver to readers the first edition of Revista Pergaminho, which will be published every six months.
In this first edition, in addition to the selected articles, we also bring the contribution of writers and researchers Luiza Lobo and Henrique Borralho, who kindly transformed their magna lectures at the Literary Festival of Itapecuru Mirim (FLIM) into articles for this edition, she at the III FLIM in 2020, and he at IV FLIM in 2021.
We also bring a section with poems, short stories and chronicles that should always be part of Pergaminho magazine.
